President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ended his working vacation in Europe and departed Paris, France, for Nigeria, with his aircraft expected to arrive at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos, later on Tuesday.
According to a statement posted on X Tuesday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu will first proceed to Lagos to honour the memory of the late Chief MKO Abiola, widely regarded as the winner of the June 12, 1993 presidential election.
“On Independence Day, the President will attend the premiere of a movie honouring Abiola, the winner of the June 1993 election, at the Wole Soyinka National Theatre, Iganmu, Lagos. While in Lagos, President Tinubu will also hold strategic meetings with political leaders and associates over several days in preparation for the 2027 elections.” the statement reads.

The President departed Abuja on August 30 for his working vacation, spending a week in London before proceeding to Paris.

During his stay in France, Tinubu attended a private dinner with French President Emmanuel Macron and held meetings with business leaders, including Vincent Bolloré of the Bolloré Group, whose interests include Canal+, MultiChoice and Universal Music Group.
He also met with Femi Otedola, Chairman of First HoldCo Plc, on Monday.
Last week, Tinubu witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ogun State Government and DP World for the development of a Gateway deep seaport in Ogun Waterside and a Blue Marine Economic Zone in Paris, France
DP World, a global ports and logistics operator, plans to invest $7 billion in the seaport and economic zone.
The President is expected to return to Abuja after concluding his political engagements in Lagos.
