MAGGI, the culinary brand of Nestlé Nigeria, has reached 19,670 women across five South-East states through an expanded 2026 August Meeting engagement, combining nutrition education, culinary activities and community celebrations.
The initiative, described by the brand as its largest August Meeting engagement to date, involved partnerships with 30 women’s associations and five market activations across the region.
The programme more than doubled MAGGI’s participation from the previous year, underscoring the brand’s growing engagement with women through one of the South-East’s most enduring cultural and community gatherings.
Following the women’s meetings, MAGGI organised receptions featuring cooking competitions, music, gifts and appearances by South-East-born actresses Ruby Ojiakor, Blessing Obasi and Blessing Onwukwe.
Food remained central to the activities, with culinary sessions introducing fresh approaches to familiar meals, while cooking competitions provided participants with opportunities to showcase their skills and creativity.
The engagement also featured practical nutrition sessions focused on making nutritious food choices within household budgets. Discussions covered balanced and diverse diets, micronutrients such as iron and simple approaches to planning family meals.
Participants were also introduced to the role fortified foods can play as part of a varied diet, including MAGGI products fortified with iron.
Speaking on the initiative, Funmi Osineye, Category Manager, Culinary, Nestlé Nigeria, said August Meeting provides an important platform for women to strengthen families, preserve traditions and contribute to community development.
“August Meeting is a powerful expression of the role women play in strengthening families, preserving traditions and driving progress in their communities,” she said.
Osineye added that the platform also creates opportunities for women to share experiences and learn from one another, describing MAGGI’s participation as particularly significant as the brand marks 60 years in Nigeria.
“It is an opportunity to celebrate the women who have been part of our journey while creating an experience that brings together culinary inspiration, practical nutrition knowledge and the shared joy of food and community,” she said.

The celebrations extended across different locations in the region, including Enugu and Ebonyi states.
Blessing Onwukwe, who participated in the celebrations in both states, described the experience as memorable, saying she was pleased to have been part of the events.
Participants also commended the combination of food, entertainment and gifts provided during the engagements.
Christianna Nwibo, an executive of the Catholic Women Organisation, Nwofe, Ebonyi State, said the women enjoyed the MAGGI experience, particularly the food and gifts.
The 2026 initiative forms part of MAGGI’s broader engagement with Nigerian consumers, particularly women, through culinary, cultural and community platforms.
As the brand marks six decades in Nigeria, the company said it remains focused on maintaining its connection with consumers while adapting to new generations and celebrating the food, people and traditions that have shaped its journey.
