Efforts to obtain official confirmation from the Kwara State Police Command were unsuccessful, as the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, could not be reached for comment as of press time.
However, community sources confirmed that the ransom funds were mobilised through collective community efforts and private contributions, highlighting the growing burden placed on local communities amid persistent security challenges.
