Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has confirmed the release of 38 worshippers abducted during last week’s attack on the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Eruku, in Ekiti Local Government Area.
The victims were freed on Sunday after several days of coordinated operations involving security agencies and federal authorities.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye, the governor said President Bola Tinubu had ordered heightened security actions in response to recent attacks in Kwara and Kebbi States, including the deployment of additional tactical units to the affected areas.

AbdulRazaq thanked the Office of the National Security Adviser, the Department of State Services, the Nigerian Army, the Nigerian Intelligence Agency, and the Nigerian Police Force for their roles in the rescue effort.
He also commended community leaders and residents for their cooperation.

Security agencies have not yet disclosed how the hostages were rescued or whether any suspects were arrested.
