Travel content creator says encounter turned heated during local market visit
A Chinese travel content creator, Xiao Jony, has warned prospective tourists to exercise caution when visiting Nigeria after he alleged that some men demanded money from him while he was exploring a local market.
Xiao Jony shared a video of the encounter on his social media page while sampling local food and drinks during his visit to the country.
‘I’m a tourist, I pay for the visa’
In the video, one of the men who approached Xiao Jony asked him to stop and insisted that he pay money.
Questioning the demand, the travel content creator responded: “I’m a tourist. I pay the visa.”
The encounter subsequently became heated, with insults exchanged between Xiao Jony and the men.
The video has since attracted attention online, particularly over the creator’s account of his experience while visiting the Nigerian market.

Following the incident, Xiao Jony urged other tourists to be cautious when visiting Nigeria.
He specifically advised visitors to move around during the daytime rather than at night, apparently based on his experience during the trip.
Concluding the video, the Chinese content creator made a blunt remark about visiting the country.
“Actually, it’s better not to come,” he said.
