Kano will Benefit from Stronger Federal Collaboration, Abba Yusuf Tells Tinubu

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State on Monday met with President Bola Tinubu at the State House, Abuja, where he outlined his administration’s priorities on security, infrastructure and enhanced cooperation with the federal government.

The meeting, which was held behind closed doors, was used to formally brief the president on key challenges and opportunities facing Kano State, with particular emphasis on the worsening security situation in some local government areas.

In a statement issued on Tuesday by Sunusi Bature, the governor’s spokesperson, Yusuf informed the president of the recent killing of a housewife and her children in the state, stressing the need for decisive federal support to strengthen security operations and safeguard lives.

According to the statement, the governor highlighted the role of the Kano State Neighbourhood Watch Corps in complementing conventional security agencies and called for closer collaboration with federal security institutions.

Yusuf Commends Tinubu for Intervention in Kano State

Yusuf also discussed the state’s development agenda, placing emphasis on major infrastructure projects aimed at boosting economic growth.

He commended the president for federal intervention on the Wujuwuju Road project, describing it as a critical step towards unlocking economic opportunities and creating jobs in the state.

Bature said the governor appealed for the president’s support to accelerate ongoing federal projects and ensure that Kano derives maximum benefit from federal programmes and investments.

The statement added that President Tinubu assured Yusuf of the federal government’s readiness to partner with Kano State in addressing insecurity and promoting sustainable development.
