10,000 Police Constables Pass Out of Training Institutions Nationwide

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has graduated 10,000 newly recruited constables from its training institutions across the country, marking a significant milestone in efforts to boost manpower and enhance national security.
Nationwide Passing Out Parade
The Passing Out Parade (POP) took place simultaneously on Tuesday, 7 October 2025, across all designated police colleges and training schools nationwide. The event marked the successful completion of intensive training designed to equip the recruits with the skills required for modern policing in line with global law enforcement standards.
IGP Commends Recruits’ Dedication
Addressing the new officers, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, praised their commitment, discipline, and perseverance throughout the training process.

“You must carry with you the principles of honour, diligence, and patriotism that define our noble institution. The nation looks up to you to serve with fairness, courage, and compassion,” the IGP stated.
He also reaffirmed that the NPF would continue to prioritise training, welfare, and reforms to strengthen professionalism within the Force and improve public trust.
Training Focused on Modern Policing
According to the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the recruits were exposed to a robust curriculum that included modern policing standards, ethical values, and practical field operations.
Hundeyin said the training programme placed special emphasis on:
Community partnership and engagement
Intelligence-led policing
Respect for human rights
Judicious use of authority

These, he noted, are essential to building public confidence and promoting professionalism in the Police Force.
Part of Strategic Manpower Development
Hundeyin further explained that the passing out of the new constables is part of the NPF’s strategic manpower development plan under the current administration. The initiative aims to strengthen security presence, improve response capacity, and reinforce public safety across the nation.
Commitment to a Safer Nigeria
IGP Egbetokun reiterated the NPF’s commitment to sustaining the gains of modern policing through continuous capacity building and institutional reforms.
“The Nigeria Police Force will continue to evolve through improved welfare and operational efficiency to ensure a safer and more secure Nigeria for all,” he assured.
The 10,000 new constables are expected to be deployed across various commands and formations in the coming days to support ongoing efforts in crime prevention and law enforcement nationwide.
