Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has said Nigeria’s progress depends on peace, security, responsible governance and improved opportunities for citizens.
Sani stated this in his message to mark Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary.
The governor said peace and stability were essential to achieving the country’s aspirations, stressing that Nigerians should be able to go about their daily activities without fear.
“Peace and stability are indispensable to the fulfilment of our aspirations. A farmer must be able to cultivate his land, a trader opens her shop and a child attends school without fear,” he said.
Sani said his administration would continue to work with the Federal Government to improve public safety in Kaduna State.

He also called on Nigerians to reject division and embrace the country’s diversity, describing it as a source of strength.
“To the people of Kaduna State, I reaffirm an abiding conviction: our diversity is our strength, and our shared humanity must guide our relationships,” he said.
The governor also urged public officials to uphold accountability, protect public resources and improve the communities they serve.
He said building a better Nigeria required commitment from both leaders and citizens.
“The authority entrusted to us obliges us to serve faithfully, protect public resources and leave our communities better than we found them,” he said.
“A new, albeit far better, Nigeria is achievable. Through our work in Kaduna State and the Renewed Hope Agenda nationally, we remain resolute in building a country worthy of our heroes’ sacrifices and our children’s trust,” he added.
