The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has released fresh updates on its ongoing nationwide recruitment exercise, revealing that 360,923 applicants were disqualified during the screening and shortlisting phase.
According to the board, a total of 1,120,491 candidates successfully completed their applications and were cleared to participate in the computer-based test (CBT). However, 432,935 applications were left incomplete, while 360,923 applicants failed to meet the required criteria and were screened out.
In total, the exercise attracted more than 1.8 million applicants across the country, reflecting the high level of interest in vacancies within the paramilitary agencies.

The recruitment covers key institutions under the board, including the Nigeria Immigration Service, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Federal Fire Service, and the Nigeria Correctional Service.
CDCFIB also released a nationwide breakdown of CBT performance, showing how candidates scored across different bands. A total of 221,996 candidates scored between 0 and 40, while 229,155 scored between 41 and 60. Another 278,543 candidates recorded scores between 61 and 80, and 142,697 candidates scored between 81 and 100.
The recruitment process is now expected to progress to the next phase, which will include physical screening and document verification for shortlisted candidates. Successful applicants will receive official notifications detailing their screening venues, dates, and required documents.
The board reiterated that the entire recruitment process is free of charge and urged applicants to depend only on official communication channels for accurate updates.
It also cautioned against misinformation and unofficial messages, following earlier concerns over intermittent access to the recruitment portal.
