National Police Day 2026: FCT CP Presents Welfare Cheques to Families of Fallen Officers

Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, has presented Group Life Assurance, Group Personal Accident, and Family Welfare Support cheques to the families and next of kin of 79 fallen officers.

He made the presentation on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at the FCT Police Command Headquarters in Garki II, Abuja. The event formed part of activities marking the 2026 National Police Day.

According to a press statement made available to newsmen by the  FCT Police Command spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh,   the exercise reflects the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force under the leadership of Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, to the welfare of its personnel and the families of officers who died in the line of duty.

The Commissioner expressed heartfelt condolences to the beneficiaries, reassuring them that the Force will continue to support them.

He also noted that the sacrifices of the fallen officers will never be forgotten.

Meanwhile, the Command reaffirmed its commitment to protecting lives and property across the FCT. It also urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities.
