Security infrastructure in the Federal Capital Territory received a boost on Wednesday as the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, Miller G. Dantawaye, commissioned two newly built police outposts and laid the foundation for another within the Lugbe axis of Abuja.

The newly inaugurated outposts are located at the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry Ultra-Modern Shopping Complex in Lugbe and the National Judicial Institute along Airport Road, while construction is set to begin on another facility at T-Pumpy Estate.

The projects were constructed and donated to the Nigeria Police Force through the FCT Police Command by the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the National Judicial Institute, and the management of T-Pumpy Estate. The initiative aims to strengthen police visibility, improve response time to emergencies, and enhance community-based policing within the affected areas.

Speaking during the commissioning ceremonies held on March 11, 2026, CP Dantawaye commended the donor institutions for supporting efforts to improve security infrastructure in the nation’s capital.

He described the gesture as a strong example of collaboration between security agencies, corporate organisations, and community stakeholders in safeguarding lives and property.

According to the police commissioner, the new outposts will play a critical role in improving security coverage in fast-growing districts within the FCT, particularly in Lugbe and surrounding communities along the busy Airport Road corridor.

Call for Professional Conduct

CP Dantawaye also charged officers deployed to the facilities to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, and integrity in the discharge of their duties.

He urged them to remain courteous, responsive, and respectful while engaging with residents and visitors, stressing that strong community relationships are essential for effective policing.

The commissioner emphasized that the facilities must be used efficiently to improve operational effectiveness and sustain public trust in the police.
