The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command, in collaboration with sister security agencies, has impounded 21 commercial motorcycles and arrested their riders for violating the ban on motorcycle operations along major roads and highways.
The enforcement action, conducted today as part of Operation Sweep, saw combined teams of police officers and Vehicle Inspection Officers patrol major highways and corridors within the FCT.
The operation targeted motorcycles flouting existing restrictions and led to the apprehension of riders in accordance with prevailing laws and regulations.

Commissioner of Police, CP Miller G. Dantawaye, psc, emphasized that the crackdown forms part of a sustained strategy to reduce traffic-related crimes, prevent the use of motorcycles for criminal activities, and enhance public safety across the territory.
He warned that repeated defiance of the ban would attract strict enforcement measures while assuring residents that such operations will continue across the six Area Councils.
