The 23-year-old Nigerian winger, Adamu Aliyu, who recently joined second-division side JFK Ventspils during the latest transfer window, has already impressed with his sharp performances and positive attitude.
In just his second outing for the club, Aliyu played a key role in a dominant 4-1 league win, setting up one goal and earning a penalty to help seal the victory. It was a strong response following a challenging debut.

“My debut wasn’t ideal—we were already behind when I came on, and we had a player sent off not long after,” Aliyu recalled. “But we’ve put that behind us, and today’s result shows the character of this team.”
Aliyu’s quick adaptation and attacking threat have caught the attention of both fans and teammates. With eyes firmly set on bigger ambitions, the talented winger has one clear goal in mind: earning a call-up to Nigeria’s national team.
“Representing my country has always been my dream,” he said. “I’m focused on working hard and improving every game. Hopefully, that opportunity will come.”
Beyond personal aspirations, Aliyu is determined to help JFK Ventspils achieve promotion to the Latvian top flight. He’s targeting more goals, assists, and consistent contributions throughout the season.
