The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested five notorious bandits linked to a series of kidnappings across the North Central, North West, and North East regions, recovering a large cache of arms and ammunition in the process.
The suspects, long on the wanted list of security agencies, were tracked down by the Police Scorpion Squad during a week-long operation between September 20 and 28, 2025. They were eventually apprehended in Nasarawa State.
Those arrested include: Abdullahi Garuba, alias Alhaji Ore (40); Yusuf Inuwa, alias Alhaji Dabunda (59); David Kaika, alias Baba (29); Baba Imaji (female, 36); and Ibrahim Nasiru, alias Pepper.

Items recovered from the suspects include 2,186 rounds of live 7.62 x 39mm AK-47 ammunition, two AK-47 rifles with obliterated serial numbers, a locally fabricated pistol with two live cartridges, and five operational motorcycles believed to have been used for criminal activities.
Police confirmed that the suspects confessed to their crimes during preliminary investigations.
They are expected to be charged to court once investigations are concluded, while efforts are ongoing to arrest other members of their gang who are still at large.
FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Ajao S. Adewale, commended the gallantry of the officers who carried out the operation and reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to ridding the FCT and its surrounding states of banditry and other violent crimes.

He also urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities through the Command’s emergency lines.
