A member of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ejiofor Onyia, has accused the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, of working for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Onyia said Wike does not occupy any executive position in the PDP and therefore lacks the authority to determine the party’s direction. He spoke on Monday while featuring on Prime Time, a programme on Arise Television.
His comment followed the resolution of the PDP’s National Executive Council (NEC), which zoned the party’s 2027 presidential ticket to the southern region and ratified Umar Damagum as National Chairman.

Responding to questions on whether the decision aligned with Wike’s interests, Onyia maintained that the former Rivers State governor’s opinion had no bearing on the party’s constitutional process.
“You see, let me make it clear: we have a party, and we have an executive. We also have a constitution that guides the activities of the party. As of today, the FCT Minister is working for an opposition party. He is not holding any executive position in the PDP and does not have the power to decide what the party does,” Onyia said.
He added that Wike could react or express personal opinions, but the PDP would continue to act in line with its constitution.
