A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has accused the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, of being consumed by what he called “Amaechicanism” the fear of former Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi’s possible political resurgence ahead of the 2027 elections.
Eze was reacting to Wike’s recent statement that Amaechi would not secure the presidential ticket of the African Democratic Congress (ADC). He dismissed the remark as baseless, insisting that Amaechi’s political fate rests with God and Nigerian voters, not his opponents.
“It is only God who has continued to determine Amaechi’s fate politically that will determine his fate come 2027,” Eze said, adding that party delegates, not individuals, would decide the ADC flagbearer.

The APC stalwart also highlighted Amaechi’s achievements as former Governor of Rivers State and Minister of Transportation, describing him as a leader with the resolve to fight corruption if elected president.
On Wike’s persistent claims about the sale of state-owned gas turbines under Amaechi’s administration, Eze maintained that the matter was long clarified in past state budgets and should no longer be an issue.
He stressed that Amaechi remains a formidable political force whose destiny cannot be dictated by rivals.
