The Nigerian military has killed dozens of terrorists in a precision airstrike carried out by the Air Component of Operation FANSAN YAMMA (OPFY) in Yankuzo Ward, Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
According to Captain David Adewusi, media information officer for OPFY, the strike was launched following credible intelligence that a large number of terrorists from Faskari and Kankara (Katsina State) and various parts of Zamfara had assembled at the foot of Asola Hills for a wedding.
The operation led to the death of many terrorists, while several others sustained injuries during the attack.
Ground Troops Repel Ambush
In a coordinated ground operation, troops of 1 Brigade under Sector 2 OPFY conducted a follow-up mission in the early hours of August 5, 2025, successfully fighting through a terrorist ambush en route to the village.

The statement further revealed that four terrorist collaborators from Kunchin Kalgo village, Tsafe LGA, were critically injured during the engagement.
