After a season in the lower division, Ekiti United Football Club has confirmed its return to the Nigeria National League (NNL) ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

The announcement was made by the club’s media officer, Blessing Akinyemi, who revealed that the team has successfully acquired a promotion slot to feature in Nigeria’s second-tier football league, despite not gaining promotion through the Nationwide League One (NLO) playoffs.

“We are delighted to share with our fans, stakeholders, and the entire Ekiti community that Ekiti United Football Club has successfully secured a slot in the NNL for the 2025/2026 season,” the club stated.

Ekiti United was relegated to the NLO following their disappointing outing in the 2023/24 NNL season. The club’s management has since been working behind the scenes to ensure a swift return to competitive football at a higher level.
