Chief Executive Officer and co-founder, Bluechip Technologies Ltd, Mr Kazeem Tewogbade, has launched a memoir titled “Unlikely”, documenting his journey through the pathway to success.

Tewogbade, who has made a significant footprint in Nigeria’s tech space, highlighted the role of the power of vision, purpose, dedication and resilience in business success.

Speaking during the official launch of the book on Thursday, November 13, at Harbor Point, Victoria Island, Lagos, Tewogbade stated that he was spurred to document his life journey “to prove that however unlikely success may seem, with hard work and faith, and in hopefulness for a better tomorrow, success is achievable.”

He said the book reflected on the values of family, mentorship, and resilience, demonstrating that even in the midst of uncertainty, having a clear purpose and focus can guide one toward achieving the best outcomes.

“Unlikely is also a story of perseverance and a further confirmation of Quran 94, verse 5-6, which states: ‘with every difficulty, there is ease.’ Indeed, with that difficulty, there’s more ease,” he added.

The tech expert and entrepreneur with over 25 years of experience in Information Technology strategy and innovation highlighted the role of his parents in shaping his life at an early stage, which significantly contributed to what he is today. “I have told the story in Unlikely of how my dad felt I was his greatest accomplishment. There’s no denying the fact that my dad worked very hard for that outcome. But that outcome was for me to determine, not his.”

He also shared some reflections in the book on how he and Olumide Soyombo founded and built Bluechip Technologies to become a leading Pan-African IT services company.

“Our customers would read from the book how thorough and futuristic we are in solving their business problems. They will see how passionate we are in earning their trust,” Tewogbade stated, adding that the book would also offer young people going into business a lot of insights “about partnering for success and how boldness can enable breakthroughs.”

Looking ahead, Kazeem, who holds a First-class degree in Computer Science from the University of Ibadan, said he is focused on sustainability and creating an enterprise that can outlive him.

In his welcome address, Cedric Tsiga, Group Chief Growth Officer, Bluechip Technologies, said the book is not just a name but tells a story of resilience. “The book captures the moment of uncertainty, the lessons of resilience, the power of grace and the beautiful truth that even during life’s unpredictable circumstances, purpose and intentionality will always find their way.”

While reviewing the book, co-founder/executive director, Bluechip Technologies, Olumide Soyombo, said it is not just a story about one man’s rise, but the story about Nigeria, his family, faith, and the story of resilience, which led him  “to build something out of almost nothing.”

Soyombo explained that the story takes the reader through Kazeem’s early life, career in the IT world up to organisational leadership level as he found himself in the boardroom of Bluechip Technologies, all reflecting an interesting journey of determination.

“In his story, we see how life’s earliest disadvantages can become the very ingredients for greatness. He writes about growing up surrounded by community, by love, and by the type of discipline that today’s generation might call “harsh,” but which many of us know built character,” Soyombo stated.
