Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola and his wife, Kafayat Oyetola, cast their votes at Ward 1, Unit 10, Iragbiji, in Boripe Local Government Area of Osun State on Saturday.
Oyetola, who spoke to newsmen after casting his vote in the ongoing 2026 governorship election in the state, commended voters for their large turnout and peaceful conduct in the exercise.
The former governor, who is the current leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, urged everyone to remain peaceful throughout the electoral exercise and allow the will of God to o prevail.
“I have cast my ballot with my wife, Kafayat, at Ward 1, Unit 10, Iragbiji, in the ongoing Osun governorship election,” Oyetola stated. “
“I commend the impressive voter turnout and the peaceful conduct of voters across the state. I urge everyone to remain peaceful and allow the will of the people to prevail.”
He also commended security operatives deployed for the election “for their professionalism and dedication to maintaining peace throughout the exercise.”
The minister urged voters and supporters of the various political parties to shun violence, provocation and acts capable of disrupting the electoral process.

While expressing confidence in the electoral process, Oyetola said he believed the APC candidate has significant support among the electorate and would emerge victorious.
“I am confident in our candidate, and I believe the people of Osun will make the right choice.
“What is most important now is for everybody to remain calm and allow the votes to be counted and the will of the people to prevail,” he added.
Pinnacle Daily reports that among 14 candidates contesting the Osun State 2026 Governorship election, the incumbent governor and candidate of the Accord Party, Ademola Adeleke, the APC’s Bola Oyebamiji, and the African Democratic Congress candidate (APC), Najeem Salaam, are the major contenders.
