Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has arrived in Anambra State to launch the National Community Food Bank Programme for the South-East zone and commission an Information and Communication Technology Centre at the Federal Polytechnic, Oko.
Oluremi arrived at the Chinua Achebe International Airport, Umueri, on Thursday and was received by Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, his wife, Dr Nonye Soludo and other government officials.

The visit forms part of the First Lady’s engagements in the state, with the food bank programme aimed at addressing malnutrition among vulnerable women and children.
The National Community Food Bank Programme is being implemented by the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency in collaboration with the First Lady and partners across the geopolitical zones.
The South-East zonal director of the agency, Dr Samuel Obasi, said the food bank to be established at the Amawbia Primary Health Centre would serve Anambra Central Senatorial District and support centres in Anambra South and North.
He said the programme was designed to cater to children and women identified with moderate or severe acute malnutrition.
