Falana, Falz Join Lagos Protest As Nigerians Demand End To Bad Governance

Human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, and his son, popular Nigerian musician Folarin Falana, known as Falz, were among those who joined a protest against bad governance in Lagos State on Friday.

The demonstration took place at the Ikeja Underbridge area, where protesters gathered in large numbers to express frustration over worsening economic hardship and rising insecurity across the country.

The protesters said their action was driven by daily incidents of violence, kidnapping, and hardship, which they blamed on poor governance and policy failures.

Participants carried placards with strong messages demanding immediate government intervention to address insecurity and improve living conditions.

Some of the inscriptions read: “No Democracy Without Security,” “End Insecurity and Kidnapping,” “End Bad Governance,” and “Free All Abducted Children, Teachers, Farmers.”

The protest comes amid increasing public concern over Nigeria’s security challenges and economic difficulties, with citizens calling for more effective governance and protection of lives.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had earlier addressed the nation, assuring Nigerians that his administration is committed to ending insecurity and restoring stability.

He pledged that Nigeria would prevail in its fight against criminality, while urging citizens to remain patient as reforms continue.

The protest adds to a growing wave of civic pressure on the government to deliver measurable improvements in security and economic conditions.
