Egbin Power has kicked off the 11th edition of its annual scholarship programme, reinforcing its ongoing dedication to advancing quality education and expanding opportunities for youth within its host communities.
Aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4)—which advocates inclusive, quality education and lifelong learning opportunities—the initiative operates under the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (PCSR) umbrella.
Since its inception, the programme has delivered tuition-free, high-quality education to exceptional primary and secondary school students throughout the region.
The 2026 edition launched with an initial pre-test exercise drawing over 250 participating students. Beyond academic aid, this year’s rollout incorporates an education fair, an interactive boot camp, structured mentorship sessions, and playgroup activities. Together, these components aim to boost academic performance while cultivating essential life skills, discipline, self-confidence, and leadership capabilities.

Mokhtar Bounour, Chief Executive Officer of Egbin Power, emphasized that investing in education remains central to the company’s strategy for long-term community development.

Bounour added that the company aims to build a legacy where access to quality education serves as the bedrock for personal growth, community growth, and broader societal progress.
The initiative continues to draw strong local support, with parents, educators, and community leaders actively partnering with the power company to guide and monitor the students’ progress.
