According to Atiku, the primary election is being conducted simultaneously across the country’s 8,809 wards, a development he described as a significant milestone in the party’s political agenda.

“The election taking place simultaneously in 8,809 wards in Nigeria is a major step in our quest to recover our beloved country and set it on the path of prosperity,” he added.

Three Candidates Compete For ADC Presidential Ticket

Ahead of the exercise, the ADC Presidential Screening Committee cleared all three aspirants seeking the party’s ticket for the 2027 presidential election.

The contenders are Atiku; former Rivers State governor and ex-Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi; and economist Hayatu-Deen Mohammed.

The party also approved 513 aspirants for the House of Representatives, 109 senatorial aspirants and 80 governorship aspirants to participate in the primary elections taking place in their respective wards nationwide.

The ADC is using the direct primary system, with party members across the country voting to determine candidates who will fly the party’s flag in the 2027 general election.
