Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has defended his frequent dancing at public events, saying his passion for dancing has not affected his responsibilities as governor.
Adeleke made the clarification in a post on his official social media page while responding to criticism over his dancing at public functions.
‘Dancing is Part of My Family’
The governor said dancing was part of his family’s lifestyle, describing his family as people who enjoy celebrating and having fun.
“I dance because in my family, we are jolly good fellows,” Adeleke said.

He maintained that there was a time for work and a time for celebration, stressing that his dancing should not be interpreted as a sign that he was neglecting his duties.
“As I am dancing, I am working. There is time for everything, there is time to dance and there is time to work,” he said.
‘I Have Delivered Across All Sectors’
Adeleke further argued that his public displays of dancing had not prevented his administration from carrying out its responsibilities.
“Dancing does not stop me from working. I have delivered across all sectors,” the governor said.
His comments come amid renewed political criticism as Osun State prepares for the governorship election, with his public appearances and campaign activities attracting increased attention.
