The Osun State Governorship Campaign Council of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused Governor Ademola Adeleke of making false and inflammatory allegations against President Bola Tinubu ahead of the August 15 governorship election.
The accusation followed Adeleke’s appeal to the President to intervene in what he described as growing political violence in the state and ensure a free and fair election.
At a campaign rally in Olorunda Local Government Area on Monday, Adeleke warned against a repeat of the political violence that followed the disputed 1983 governorship election in the South-West.
Reacting in a statement on Tuesday, the Director-General of the APC Governorship Campaign Council, Oluwole Oke, described the governor’s remarks as unfounded and aimed at discrediting the President.

Oke Dismisses Adeleke’s Allegation
Oke rejected Adeleke’s allegation that the Federal Government was withholding statutory allocations meant for the 30 local government areas in Osun State, insisting that the recognised local government administration continues to receive its monthly allocations.
He accused the governor of attempting to portray Tinubu as an enemy of the people of Osun and said the claims were intended to mislead the public.
The APC campaign council also dismissed Adeleke’s allegations of political intimidation, alleging that more than 30 APC members and supporters had been killed since 2022 by thugs allegedly linked to the governor’s administration.
Oke further alleged that Adeleke would be required to account for the management of public funds after leaving office.
He specifically mentioned the utilisation of a ₦2 billion Federal Government grant released in 2023 for the procurement of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses, the handling of ₦17 billion ecological funds received in 2024 and 2025, and over ₦1 trillion in revenue accrued to the state during the governor’s tenure.
Adeleke is seeking a second term on the platform of the Accord Party, while the APC has nominated Bola Oyebamiji as its candidate for the August 15 governorship election.
