Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Martin Chike Amaewhule, alongside Hon. Hart Cyril Godwin and 11 other aspirants, have emerged as candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC), for House of Representatives seats in Rivers State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The results of the primaries conducted on Saturday were announced by the Chairman of the APC House of Representatives Primary Election Committee, Hon. Wahab Owokoniran.
Amaewhule Wins Obio/Akpor Ticket
Amaewhule secured the APC ticket for the Obio/Akpor Federal Constituency with 17,968 votes.
He is expected to challenge the current Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Hon. Kingsley Chinda, who presently represents the constituency.

Hon. Hart Cyril Godwin also emerged victorious in the Degema/Bonny Federal Constituency primary after polling 7,203 votes.
Other Winners Emerge Across Federal Constituencies
Other aspirants declared winners in the primaries include Felix Uche Nwaeke for Eleme/Tai/Oyigbo Federal Constituency and Hon. Dunamene R. Dekor for Gokana/Khana Federal Constituency.
Hon. Solomon Bob clinched the ticket for Abua/Odual/Ahoada East, while Rt. Hon. Victor Chukwuemele Ebuzor emerged for Ahoada West/Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Federal Constituency.
Onyeozu Joy Nyebuchi secured the APC ticket for Ikwerre/Emohua, while Linda Somiari Stewart emerged for Okrika/Ogu-Bolo Federal Constituency.
Others include Isobo Jack Solomon for Akuku-Toru/Asari-Toru, Ozuzum Chibuzor Nwamka for Etche/Omuma and Frederick B. Apiafi for Andoni/Opobo-Nkoro Federal Constituency.
Hon. Igwe Precious emerged as a candidate for Port Harcourt 1 Federal Constituency, while Hon. Blessing Chibery Amadi secured the ticket for Port Harcourt 2 Federal Constituency.
