Dele Oye to Lead NBA Session on Foreign Investment

The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has invited Dele Oye, principal partner of Dele Oye & Associates, to moderate a session on corporate governance and foreign investment at its 66th Annual General Conference.

The conference, themed “Beyond Limits,” is scheduled to hold from August 21 to 28, 2026, at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium, Elekehia, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Oye has been specifically invited to moderate the session titled “Borderless Boardrooms,” which will examine how Nigerian companies can strengthen corporate governance, adopt international best practices, operate across borders and attract foreign capital while managing cross-border compliance requirements.

According to the NBA, the session will focus on the growing need for Nigerian companies to operate beyond domestic markets as technology continues to reshape the global business environment.

“Nigerian Companies do not operate in isolation, particularly in an ever-shrinking world, thanks to technology,” the association said, adding that the session would examine how company boards can “inculcate corporate governance, navigate international best practices” and attract foreign capital while managing cross-border compliance.

The conference will bring together jurists, policymakers, thought leaders and industry experts to discuss issues including economic growth, industry and trade development, foreign exchange regulation, legal sector advancement and global competitiveness.

Former Liberian President George Weah is scheduled to deliver the keynote address, alongside other speakers and participants from the legal profession and other sectors.

The “Borderless Boardrooms” session is scheduled for Monday, August 24.
