A counter-insurgency and security analyst focused on the Lake Chad region, Zagazola Makama, has identified two men he described as the biological brothers of notorious bandit leader Bello Turji, alleging that they have been actively involved in violent attacks across parts of Sokoto and Zamfara states.
Makama made the claim in a post on social media in which he published a photograph of the two men and linked them to the persistent insecurity affecting communities in the North-West.
According to the security analyst, the two men have played significant roles in criminal activities attributed to armed bandit groups operating in the region.
“This are the two real brothers of Bello Turji. They are ruthless and have been terrorizing the peace loving people in Sokoto and Zamfara. They will soon meet their Waterloo,” Makama stated in the post.
The analyst, however, did not provide further details regarding the identities of the men or any ongoing security operations targeting them.
Turji Remains Among Nigeria’s Most Wanted
Bello Turji is regarded as one of Nigeria’s most wanted bandit leaders and has been linked to numerous attacks, kidnappings and killings across parts of the North-West, particularly in Zamfara, Sokoto and neighbouring states.
His criminal network has remained a major security concern despite repeated military offensives and counter-banditry operations conducted by security agencies in the region.
