Police Recover Body of Unidentified Woman from Jabi Lake in Abuja

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has recovered the body of an unidentified woman from Jabi Lake in Abuja.

The discovery was reported to Jabi Division around 10:37 a.m. on Saturday, following a distress call from Jabi Lake Recreation.

Detectives dispatched to the scene found the body of a woman, believed to be about 60 years old, floating on the lake.

Police said no signs of violence were observed on the body. A pair of green slippers was also recovered on the bank of the lake.

Due to the advanced state of decomposition, the Environmental Health Department was contacted to evacuate the body and prevent health risks.

A senior officer of the FCT Police Command confirmed that investigations are underway to establish the woman’s identity and determine the circumstances surrounding her death.
