Tinubu Swears In Two New Ministers to Replace Yilwatda, Nnaji

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Thursday, swore in two new ministers, Bernard Doro and Kingsley Udeh, during a brief ceremony held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, shortly before the commencement of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting.

Bernard Doro, from Plateau State, replaces Nentawe Yilwatda as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction. Yilwatda had resigned his position after emerging as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Doro’s nomination was confirmed by the Senate in late October.

Kingsley Udeh, who until now served as Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in Enugu State, assumes office as Minister of Science, Innovation, and Technology.

He succeeds Uche Nnaji, who also resigned from the cabinet. The Senate confirmed Udeh’s appointment earlier on Thursday after a brief screening session.

Council Pays Tribute to Late National Figures

During the FEC meeting, members observed a minute of silence in honour of two prominent Nigerians: Solomon Ewuga, former Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory and Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State, and Abdullahi Mohammed Adangba, former Chief of Staff to Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, who died at the age of 86.

Those present at the meeting included the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume; Head of the Civil Service, Didi Walson-Jack; Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila; National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu; and several cabinet ministers.
