The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, has extended felicitations to the Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), Engr. Gbenga Komolafe, on the occasion of his 62nd birthday.
In a congratulatory message issued on Friday through his Chief Press Secretary, Leke Olatunji Baiyewu, Abbas described Engr. Komolafe as “a reformer” in the petroleum sector, whose dedication and professionalism continue to inspire many public officers.
The Speaker commended Komolafe for his diligence and patriotism, noting that his leadership has driven significant reforms at the NUPRC. According to the Speaker, the NUPRC boss has applied his wealth of experience to enhance efficiency and productivity in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.

“As the pioneer CEO of the NUPRC, Engr. Komolafe has achieved remarkable successes in the implementation of the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA), introducing reforms that have strengthened governance and operations in the sector,” the statement read.
Speaker Abbas encouraged Komolafe to continue pushing for further reforms in alignment with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
He also reaffirmed the commitment of the 10th House of Representatives to providing legislative support for innovations and capacity-building initiatives in the petroleum industry.
The Speaker concluded by wishing Engr. Komolafe continued good health, long life, and ongoing service to the nation.
