The Federal Government has endorsed the forthcoming first National Science, Technology and Innovation Communication Conference (STICOMMS 2025), calling it a timely initiative to boost research visibility and promote innovation for national development.
The Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Chief Uche Nnaji, gave the endorsement when the leadership of the African University of Science and Technology (AUST), Abuja, led by its President, Prof. Azikiwe Peter Onwualu, FAS, visited him in Abuja.
Chief Nnaji said the Ministry fully supports the project, stressing that the conference will bridge the gap between researchers, innovators, and the public. He described the event as “unique and first of its kind,” adding that it comes at a time when the government is working hard to put research outputs into practical use.
“The Ministry is committed to making this conference a success. We will collaborate with AUST and its partners to achieve the desired goals,” he assured.
In addition, the Minister announced that two senior officials will join the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) to ensure the Ministry takes part in both planning and implementation.

Prof. Onwualu expressed optimism about the partnership, saying: “The Federal Government’s endorsement provides the momentum to place science and innovation at the heart of Nigeria’s development agenda.”
