After months of intense negotiations, Napoli have given Turkish champions Galatasaray until next Monday to finalise the permanent transfer of Victor Osimhen.
According to reliable sources in Italy and Turkey, the deal valued at €75 million is now in its final stages, following weeks of back-and-forth over Serie A exit clauses and profit-sharing terms.
Deadline Pressure: Napoli expect all documentation and guarantees to be completed by Monday, July 22, or risk walking away from the deal entirely.
Galatasaray have reportedly agreed to pay €40 million upfront, with the remaining €35 million due in instalments by June 2026. This structure was key in breaking the deadlock after Napoli rejected four previous offers from the Istanbul-based club.
Osimhen’s Record Season Fueled Demand
The Nigerian striker spent last season on loan at Galatasaray, where he produced an extraordinary campaign, scoring 37 goals and providing eight assists in just 41 appearances across all competitions.
His red-hot form not only helped Galatasaray reclaim the Turkish Süper Lig title but also re-established Osimhen’s global market value following an injury-hit previous season in Naples.
Key Stat: 37 goals in 41 games. Osimhen was Galatasaray’s most lethal weapon last season.
Anti-Serie A Clause Finally Resolved
One of the final hurdles in negotiations was Napoli’s insistence on an anti-Serie A resale clause ensuring Osimhen does not return to Italy through a backdoor transfer. Galatasaray have reportedly agreed to those terms, giving Napoli confidence to proceed.
A senior Napoli official told newsmen that the club won’t allow the deal to drag beyond Monday. “We’ve been patient. The terms are clear. If they want Osimhen, this is the moment to act.”
Strategic Exit for Napoli, Historic Deal for Gala
For Napoli, the move marks the end of an era. Osimhen was Serie A’s top scorer in 2022–23 and the face of their title-winning side. But amid financial recalibrations and squad restructuring, his sale is both a sporting and economic strategy.
For Galatasaray, this is nothing short of a historic signing. Securing Osimhen permanently would send a powerful message both domestically and in European competition about their ambitions.
