AFCON 2025: CAF Denies Reports of Free Stadium Entry

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has dismissed reports claiming that fans will enjoy free entry to stadiums during the ongoing 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

The clarification follows widespread rumours suggesting that CAF, in collaboration with the Local Organising Committee (LOC), approved free access to matches due to low turnout at several venues.

CAF, however, stated that no such decision has been taken, stressing that tickets for all matches will continue to be sold throughout the duration of the tournament.

The football governing body acknowledged that only matches involving the host nation have attracted large crowds so far but insisted that standard ticketing procedures remain in place.

Action at AFCON 2025 continues on Saturday with four matches scheduled across different venues. Nigeria’s Super Eagles are also set to face Tunisia’s Carthage Eagles in one of the day’s fixtures.
