National Leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has outlined the steps the party must take to secure victory in the 2027 presidential election.
Kwankwaso, a former governor of Kano State, said unity and collective effort remain central to the NNPP’s chances.
He spoke on Tuesday during an interactive session with party stakeholders in Cross River State, where members gathered to strategise ahead of the next general elections.
Party Unity Key to Victory
Kwankwaso commended the party faithful for their support during the 2023 elections and urged them to double their efforts.
“Let me thank you for what you did during the last election in 2023. I urge you to work harder so that, by the grace of God, our party, the NNPP, will win elections in Cross River and across Nigeria.

“Ensure unity within the party, especially now that we have a new big office in Calabar and many local government areas across Cross River State,” he said.
Defection Rumours
Kwankwaso’s remarks come amid speculation about his political future. Reports suggest he may align with the All Progressives Congress (APC) or work with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 elections.
His close ally and House of Representatives member from Kano, Abdulmumin Jibrin, recently hinted that a defection to the APC remained a possibility.
Jibrin said the “doors are not closed” regarding Kwankwaso’s potential move before 2027.
