U.S.-Israeli Attack on Iran: FAAN Issues Travel Advisory as Flight Disruptions Rock Middle East

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has announced that the ongoing closure of airspaces in parts of the Middle East over the tension arising from attacks on Iran by the U.S. and Israel, has affected flights to and from the region. In a travel advisory issued on Sunday, FAAN said that following the developments, “flights scheduled to Middle East destinations from Nigerian airports, including Emirates and Qatar Airways have been cancelled or delayed.” It advised passengers affected by the disruptions to contact their respective airlines for up-to-date information on flight status, rebooking options, and further guidance. FAAN said it will continue to monitor the situation in collaboration with relevant aviation authorities and airline operators and will provide updates as necessary. Pinnacle Daily had reported that the U.S. and Israel launched a joint military operation on Saturday, firing series of missiles into Iran that led to death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and top security officials. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) pledged to revenge the attack. Tehran has launched attacks on 27 bases hosting US troops in the Middle East, as well as Israeli military facilities in Tel Aviv. The affected countries include Qatar, UAE, Bahrain, and Kuwait.
