The Nigerian Armed Forces have confirmed the death of a notorious terrorist kingpin, Yellow Danbokkolo, following a fierce encounter with troops of Operation FASAN YAMA.
The news was made public by Major General Markus Kangye, Director of Defence Media Operations, in a statement released to reporters on Tuesday.
According to the military spokesperson, Danbokkolo sustained multiple gunshot wounds during the battle and later died from his injuries.
His death marks a significant breakthrough in ongoing counterterrorism efforts, particularly in Eastern Sokoto, where he operated with ruthless notoriety.
Mastermind Behind 2021 Zamfara Arson Attack
Yellow Danbokkolo is believed to have orchestrated several high-profile attacks, including the December 2021 arson attack on travellers in the Shinkafi Local Government Area of Zamfara State, where all passengers were burnt alive.
Security sources also disclosed that the terror leader heavily relied on the drug pentazocine to fuel his prolonged reign of violence and fund terrorist operations.

Troops Intensify Hunt for Bello Turji
In continuation of anti-terror operations, troops of Operation FASAN YAMA, working alongside Hybrid Forces, Air Components, and other security agencies, are intensifying the manhunt for Bello Turji, another high-profile terrorist who has reportedly gone into hiding.
The Nigerian military has assured citizens of its unwavering commitment to restoring peace and stability across all troubled regions. It has also called on the general public to support the ongoing efforts through timely intelligence sharing and cooperation.
