A member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), convention planning committee, Dino Melaye, says no force can stop the party from holding its convention, stressing that organisers have a valid contract and have fully paid for the venue.
The ADC convention faced uncertainty on Tuesday after the party was allegedly denied access to the venue.
Speaking on Arise Television’s Morning Show on Tuesday, Melaye said there were attempts to frustrate the event, including moves to shut the gates and eject organisers from the premises.
He said the committee stood its ground, insisting that it had a duly signed agreement with the facility owners and had met all financial obligations.

Melaye also said the party is determined to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), expressing confidence in the ADC’s rising profile.
Nobody Can Stop Us – Melaye
“I have that information as a member of the planning committee and chairman of the protocol committee. We were even asked to leave yesterday. They wanted to shut the gates, but we insisted we are not going anywhere because we have a duly signed contract and we have paid in full.
“We have receipts and signed agreements. At the end of the day, we are here and the convention will hold here.
“Nobody will stop us. After a proper contract and full payment with receipts, no battalion can move us from this place. The convention will go on. ADC is gaining ground and we are ready to unseat APC,” he said.
