Former Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan has warned that politics should not be treated as a playground for unruly conduct, stressing that leadership requires responsibility, nation-building, and restraint.
Jonathan made the remarks on Thursday during the 10th anniversary dinner of the Goodluck Jonathan Foundation, which also marked his 68th birthday.
He noted that Nigeria’s democracy is under strain from reckless political behaviour and emphasised that sustaining democratic stability demands civility and accountability from all political actors.
