The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has uncovered consignments of high-potency illicit drugs concealed inside water purifier machines imported from Europe, while also intercepting a cache of military-grade ammunition and arresting multiple suspects in separate operations across the country.
The agency said the discoveries were made through intelligence-led operations, routine surveillance and highway interdiction efforts that resulted in major seizures in Lagos, Kaduna, Niger and Enugu states.
Drugs Concealed in Imported Water Purifiers
According to the NDLEA, operatives discovered three kilograms of ketamine and 199 grams of MDMA, popularly known as Ecstasy, carefully hidden inside water purifier machines shipped from the Netherlands to Lagos.
The illicit consignments were detected and seized at a courier company in Lagos on May 26, preventing the drugs from entering the illicit market.

Kaduna Raid Leads to Massive Drug Seizure
In Kaduna State, anti-narcotics officers arrested a couple, Musa Sunday and Mercy Sunday, alongside another suspect, Salomi Ezekiel, following the recovery of 100 jumbo bags of skunk weighing 1,246 kilograms.
The suspects were apprehended after operatives raided their residence in the Gonin Gora area of the state during an operation targeting illicit drug activities.

Military-Grade Ammunition Intercepted
In a separate operation, NDLEA officers on patrol along the Abuja-Kaduna Highway intercepted a 30-year-old suspect, Sunusi Musa, with 380 rounds of military-grade 7.62mm ammunition allegedly being transported to Katsina State.
The agency said the suspect and the recovered ammunition have since been handed over to the appropriate security agency for further investigation and necessary action.

Intelligence Operation Uncovers Warehouse in Niger
Acting on credible intelligence, NDLEA operatives in Niger State raided a warehouse at Gidan Kukah in Bosso Local Government Area, where they recovered 457 kilograms of skunk.
A 46-year-old suspect, Godwin Zakka, was subsequently arrested at his residence in Gbeganu, Minna, in connection with the seizure.
Highway Patrol Nabs Suspect in Enugu
In Enugu State, operatives conducting patrols along the Onitsha-Enugu Expressway intercepted a commercial vehicle travelling to Taraba State.
A search of the vehicle led to the recovery of 22,000 pills of tramadol, 100 ampoules of pentazocine and 200 grams of bromazepam. One suspect, James Maigari Wisdom, was arrested in connection with the seizure.
