Social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has accompanied operatives of the Nigeria Police Force’s Special Tactical Squad, STS, on a raid of an alleged baby factory in Karshi, Abuja.
The operation followed allegations that a seven-day-old baby had been sold at the facility.
VDM documented the operation in videos shared on his official social media platforms, showing him accompanying police officers during the early-morning raid.
According to the activist, the team departed for Karshi at about 4:00 a.m. and arrived at the location around 5:01 a.m.
“Enroute to Karshi to rescue the seven-day-old baby that was sold and also bust the baby factory. We set out at 4 a.m. with members of STS, Special Tactical Squad, Nigeria Police Force,” VDM said.
Upon arrival at the facility, the team reportedly encountered what VDM described as an ongoing childbirth operation.
“We met an ongoing baby delivery process,” he said in one of the videos.
Footage from the operation showed a young girl, identified as the daughter of the midwife, wearing medical gloves, while a young boy told the team that his mother was attending to a patient in labour.
A 21-year-old pregnant woman was also found inside the building. She reportedly told the team that she was married.
Midwife Denies Baby Factory Allegation
During questioning, the midwife, who said she was from Enugu State, admitted knowing a woman who had previously accused the facility of operating as a baby factory.
She, however, denied the allegation, insisting that the woman was her patient and had safely delivered her baby at the facility.
“She was my patient. I gave her back her baby and she left with the child,” the midwife said in the video.
The complainant, however, disputed the account, alleging that the midwife was not the person who paid her.
She claimed that a woman identified only as Kemi, whom she described as a surrogate agent, handled the payment.
The woman further alleged that she was forced into labour and injected six times before delivery. She also claimed that the midwife’s son administered some of the injections.

According to the video, the midwife’s son was identified as a student of the School of Nursing at Lincoln University, Nasarawa State.
He was also alleged to be practising without a licence.
The footage showed the pregnant woman experiencing labour pains during the operation, while VDM drew attention to what he described as poor sanitary conditions and improperly stored medical drugs at the facility.
However, the allegations made in the videos had not been independently verified as of the time of filing this report.
The Nigeria Police Force had also not issued an official statement on the operation, the alleged sale of the seven-day-old baby or the other allegations made against the facility.
