The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has sealed 12 business premises across the Ijora Causeway and Apapa areas for persistent violations of environmental regulations, despite repeated warnings, abatement notices and several opportunities to comply with the agency’s directives.
The enforcement exercise, carried out on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, forms part of the state’s renewed efforts to strengthen environmental compliance and safeguard public health.
According to LASEPA, the affected establishments were found to have breached various environmental regulations and failed to implement corrective measures previously issued by the agency.
The sealed establishments are Helmar Building Materials, Ijora Causeway; Laprivad Nigeria Limited, Ijora; Innocast Nigeria Limited, Saka Alao Street, Apapa; Body Language Shipping & Cargo, Liverpool Road, Apapa; Laodo Control Jetty, Creek Road, Apapa; Adaps Nigeria Limited, Solomon Agbontan Road, Apapa; Kehdi Equipments Limited, Burma Road, Apapa; Bulus Hotel, Kofo Abayomi Street, Apapa; Park Inn Hotel, Caulcrick Road, Apapa; Mandarin Supermarket, Hamada Enterprises and Infinity Pirelli Tyres, all located on Warehouse Road, Apapa.
Speaking on the enforcement exercise, the General Manager of LASEPA, Dr. Babatunde Ajayi, reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to protecting public health and preserving the environment through regular monitoring, strict compliance enforcement and effective implementation of environmental laws across Lagos State.
He stressed that environmental protection is a shared responsibility, warning that the agency would continue to intensify enforcement against individuals, businesses and corporate organisations whose operations endanger the environment and public wellbeing.

Ajayi urged business owners, facility operators and residents to embrace environmentally responsible practices by obtaining the necessary environmental approvals, complying with regulatory requirements and supporting LASEPA’s drive to build a cleaner, healthier and pollution-free Lagos.
He maintained that businesses that fail to meet environmental standards risk sanctions, including the sealing of their premises, as the state government sustains its zero-tolerance approach to environmental infractions.
