INEC Assures Readiness for Kano Assembly By-elections

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says it has completed preparations for the conduct of the Kano State House of Assembly by-elections in Kano Municipal and Ungogo Local Government State Constituencies.

The commission said the polls became necessary following the death of the two lawmakers representing the constituencies, which led to vacancies in the state legislature.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Kano State, Ambassador Abdullahi Zango, disclosed that more than 10 political parties have indicated interest in participating in the by-elections.
