Industry leaders have begun to gather in Lagos for the 19th edition of Oil Trading and Logistics (OTL) Africa Downstream Energy Week, focused on shaping Africa’s downstream energy future in areas of leadership, investment, and innovation across the petroleum value chain.
The event, themed “Energy Sustainability – Growth Beyond Boundaries and Competition”, organised in collaboration with the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) and other strategic partners, will be held from Sunday, 26 October to Friday, 31 October 2025 at the Lagos Oriental Hotel.
The event, regarded as Africa’s premier downstream energy gathering, will feature conferences, exhibitions, and networking sessions to advance knowledge and business in the sector.
According to a statement by the organisers, over 50 speakers—including industry leaders, policymakers, financiers, and innovators—are expected to share insights on market trends, technology, finance, strategic investment, and corporate realignment.
Joyce Akabogu, CEO of OTL Downstream Development in Africa, said the 2025 edition is intended to foster collaboration and chart the course for Africa’s sustainable and competitive energy future.
“In a year of tense markets and strategic plays, this year’s OTL is marked by a rapidly evolving downstream petroleum landscape, with competition taking centre stage.
“Themed Energy Sustainability – Growth Beyond Boundaries and Competition, OTL 2025 will feature high-level engagement on regulatory collaboration, including ministerial and regulator panels involving four West African countries,” Akabogu stated.
She said the conference will feature ministerial and regulator panels involving four West African countries, focusing on cross-border collaboration and harmonisation of regional energy policies.

She noted that the platform had, for almost two decades, contributed significantly to shaping policy direction, investment decisions, and promoting operational excellence in Africa’s downstream energy market.
The statement also said that in addition to the main conference, delegates will attend the OTL Trade Exhibition, where leading global and regional energy brands will showcase cutting-edge innovations, products, and services in oil refining, petroleum trading, shipping, tank storage, logistics, marketing, and retail. LPG, lubricants, petrochemicals, power, financial services, and policy are among the important areas of concentration.
