“It is the beauty of democracy. When the people believe in your capacity, they will give you their votes. I look forward to working with them and their colleagues in the State House of Assembly,” the governor said.
In a statement signed on Tuesday by Onwuka Nzeshi, his Chief Press Secretary, Fubara also commended residents of the affected constituencies for maintaining peace before, during, and after the elections.
The APC was the only major political party that contested the by-elections, as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party (LP), and African Democratic Congress (ADC) did not field candidates.
