The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released 279 results from the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) that were earlier withheld over suspected examination malpractice.
The Board disclosed this in a statement issued on Thursday, noting that the release followed ongoing investigations into irregularities observed during the conduct of the examination.
According to JAMB, the newly released results are in addition to those earlier made available to candidates nationwide.
JAMB explained that while some candidates were cleared after investigations revealed no evidence of wrongdoing, other results were outrightly cancelled where the Board established cases of examination malpractice.
The examination body stressed that investigations are still ongoing in several centres across the country where suspicious activities were detected during the examination.
Centres Under Surveillance Still Being Reviewed
The Board stated that results from centres flagged by its live monitoring team, as well as those linked to adverse reports, would remain withheld pending the conclusion of investigations.
It added that any candidate found culpable after the review process would have his or her result cancelled in line with examination regulations.
“Where sufficient evidence of culpability is established, such results will be cancelled,” the examination body stated.

JAMB advised candidates whose results are yet to be released to confirm their status by sending “UTMERESULT” to either 55019 or 66019 using the same phone number used during registration.
The Board said the process would enable affected candidates to know whether their results had been released or were still undergoing review.
