Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has declared his support for the Rivers Rainbow Coalition, a political movement made up of members of different political parties in the state and led by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
The governor announced his decision on Wednesday during the groundbreaking ceremony for the reconstruction and equipping of the Riven Medical Facility, a public-private pharmaceutical factory in Rivers State.
Fubara also endorsed President Bola Tinubu as his preferred presidential candidate for the 2027 election and declared support for Kingsley Chinda as his preferred governorship candidate.
He urged his supporters to back all candidates presented by the Rainbow Coalition.
According to him, the period of political conflict in Rivers State has ended and the focus should now be on peace and development.
“I am supporting our Rainbow Coalition. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is our President, and he is the one we are supporting.
“The governorship candidate is the candidate I am supporting, and anybody who believes in me will support every candidate under the Rainbow Coalition,” he said.
The Time of War is Over: Fubara Declares
The governor dismissed suggestions that he should delay aligning with the coalition, saying he had already made his choice.
“I am already in the family. I have returned to our family. Give your total support to the coalition. The time of war is over; it is now time for peace, and that peace will take us to another level,” he added.
Fubara warned against actions capable of causing division in the state, stressing that he would not be part of any move that could disrupt the existing peace.
“I am not party to anything that will bring any form of disunity in this state. We have done what we need to do, and now we are moving forward,” he said.

Speaking on the medical consumables factory, the governor assured residents that his administration remained committed to completing the project.
He said he agreed to support the investment after receiving assurances from the investors and relevant government officials on its viability and implementation timeline.
Fubara said the first phase of the project is expected to be completed within three months, adding that it would promote industrialisation, create jobs and position Rivers State as a hub for the production of medical consumables.
He also said the project would stimulate economic activities, attract local and international investors and encourage the growth of supporting industries around the facility.
The governor pledged continued government support for the investors and urged the host community to cooperate with the company to ensure the project’s success.
He further disclosed that the state government was involved in litigation with several companies over claims exceeding ₦200 billion, noting that his administration was determined to avoid contractual disputes that could discourage investment.
