ADC Did Not Suspend Senator Ireti Kingibe – Bolaji

Ireti-Kingibe

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has dismissed reports claiming that Senator Ireti Kingibe, the senator representing the Federal Capital Territory, has been suspended from the party, describing the claims as false and misleading.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Bolaji Abdullahi, said the ADC was not aware of any decision to suspend the senator and urged the public to disregard the reports.

Abdullahi stated that the party has clear constitutional procedures for handling allegations involving its members.

“The African Democratic Congress is unaware of any suspension of Senator Ireti Kingibe, the distinguished senator representing the Federal Capital Territory,” he said.

He added that as a law-abiding political party, the ADC follows established internal processes when addressing issues involving its members rather than resolving such matters through media statements.

“As a law-abiding political party, the ADC has clear constitutional procedures for addressing any allegations involving its members. Such matters are handled through established internal mechanisms, not through press statements,” Abdullahi said.

The party therefore called on the public and media organisations to ignore the reports suggesting that Kingibe had been suspended.

“We urge the public and the media to disregard the reports suggesting that Senator Ireti Kingibe has been suspended by the party, as they are false and misleading,” the statement added.

ADC’s  FCT Ward Suspends Kingibe

The Wuse Ward chapter of the  ADC, in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, had earlier slammed an indefinite suspension on Senator Ireti Kingibe.

According to the party, the FCT senator was suspended because of her anti-party activities, insubordination and violation of party rules.

The suspension was announced by the Wuse Ward ADC Chairman, Kanayo Chukwu, during a meeting attended by party executive members.

Chukwu said the development followed a meeting of the ADC Ward executives, where her matter was discussed.
