Umar Nadada has officially assumed duty as the 8th Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 14 Headquarters, Katsina State.
Nadada took over the leadership of the zone on Monday and is expected to deploy his extensive experience in crime prevention to strengthen public trust and confidence in the Nigeria Police Force.
The Zone 14 Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Umar Muhammad, disclosed this in a statement issued to journalists on Tuesday.

According to the statement, the new AIG is a seasoned police officer who has served in various operational, investigative and administrative roles across the country, contributing significantly to internal security and ongoing police reforms.
Nadada, who hails from the Rano Local Government Area of Kano State, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Biology obtained from Bayero University, Kano in 1989. He also holds a Master’s degree in Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, earned in 2010.

He was enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force on May 18, 1992, as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police and received his professional training at the Nigeria Police Academy, Annex, Kaduna.
